Proposed Weekly Net Preamble

CQ CQ CQ Calling all amateurs. This is the Southern Kentucky Amateur Transmitting Society calling to order the
weekly net. This net meets every Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. local time. The purpose of this net is to practice  net
control procedures, pass formal and informal traffic, promote goodwill, and to relay news of interest to Club
Members and other amateurs.  (Reset)
This is a directed net , and all amateurs whether a member of the club or not, are encouraged to check in and
participate.  Please direct all comments and questions through the net control station. The net control this evening
is ________.  My name is _________ and I am located in ___________.

Check-in-Procedures

1.)         First we will take check-ins from stations with emergency or priority traffic. Stations with emergency or
priority traffic please call __________. (hearing none)
2.)         Now we will take check-ins from short-time stations. These are stations that cannot wait. This includes
hand helds and  mobiles that may be about to go out of range, and stations that must go off the air before the
check-in process is complete.  When checking in, please give your call sign phonetically, your name, location, and
indicate if you have traffic or comments for the net. Short-time stations please call _________.  Listen for check-ins
3.)         Now we will take general check-ins. Any licensed amateur that would like to check-in please call
__________.

1.)         The Southern Kentucky Amateur Transmitting Society’s next meeting will be held on month, day, year,   at 7:
00 p.m.  These meetings are held at Logan Memorial Hospital Dining room adjacent to the cafeteria. Hope to see  
you there!!

Call for late check-ins

Closing the Net

Hearing no more check-ins, I am now closing the Southern Kentucky Amateur Transmitting Society’s net.  We
would like to give a special thanks to the repeater owner W4WSM, Ben, for the use of the repeater and Rodney ,
WA4RRA, for the repeater site.  We want to thank everyone for participating in the net.
We had ______ check-ins this evening.  We hope you will check in again next week at 8:30 p.m.  This is
